If you are registered with the Delhi Nursing Council (DNC), your registration has to be renewed regularly. Many nurses get stuck because of missing CNE hours or one missing document. This guide explains the renewal rules exactly as DNC publishes them.
How often do you need to renew?
DNC renews registration for 5 years at a time.
Who can renew with DNC?
DNC states that renewal is done only for nurses who are employed in the state of Delhi. You will need proof of Delhi employment for the past year.
The 150 CNE hours rule
You need 30 CNE credit hours per year, which is 150 hours in 5 years, earned through continuing nursing education programmes and workshops. Only programmes from accredited providers count. Read our separate guide: 150 CNE credit hours explained.
Documents DNC asks for
- Passport-size photo (frontal view) and signature
- Class 10 and Class 12 certificates
- Marksheets of all years
- Diploma / degree certificate
- DNC registration certificate (front and back)
- Certificates of continuing education (CNE) attended
- Proof of employment in Delhi for the past year
- Aadhaar card (mandatory)
Renewal fee
DNC lists the renewal fee as Rs 500 for RN and RM, and Rs 500 for ANM. This fee is paid to the council.
How to apply
- Check that you have the required CNE credit hours and all documents.
- Apply online on the DNC renewal portal, as described on the DNC website, and upload your documents.
- Pay the council fee online.
- Keep checking your application status and respond quickly if DNC asks for anything.

- Fewer than the required CNE credit hours, or hours from non-accredited programmes
- Unclear scans or missing marksheets
- No proof of Delhi employment
