Moving to Delhi? How nursing registration transfer (NOC) works

Nurses are registered with their State Nursing Council. When you move to work in another state, your registration has to move too. There are two situations.

1. Coming to Delhi from another state

According to the Indian Nursing Council's FAQ on the Nurse Registration and Tracking System (NRTS), for reciprocal registration:

1. You apply online to your current State Nursing Council for an NOC.
2. Your council issues the NOC online to the council where you want to register (here, DNC).
3. You are registered there with biometric verification. You have to attend this in person.

INC's FAQ says the whole process can take about one week if every office acts on time. In practice, it depends on how quickly each council processes it.

2. Leaving Delhi for another state

DNC's NOC procedure says:

1. Apply for the NOC online on the DNC website.
2. Send your original DNC registration certificate along with the NOC confirmation page.
3. DNC issues the NOC in 15 to 30 days. The NOC letter goes to the state council concerned, and a copy is emailed to you.

DNC also notes that GST of 18% applies on its fees and services.

Tips

• Keep your registration number, name and date of birth exactly the same across all documents.
• Plan time for biometric verification and sending originals.
• Check each council's latest notice before applying.
